We are all given special gifts.

I try to always have a book to read. So, far there are 10 books in my "To Read" line up. At the moment I am reading a great book, entitled, "Sacred Contracts." Apparently I am on one of my Spiritual Quests to find a deeper meaning to life. This book begged me to take it as I was scanning the shelves of a used book store in Campbell, CA. I go into this store often, not only for the books, but also for the store cat that is given free range of the entire store.

As I was looking for massage, yoga, and books on spirituality, this one book just seemed to be watching me. I couldn't just pass it by. So, I picked it up and look through a couple pages, that's when I realized that this was the book that I had been searching for.

A friend of my had come into town a few weeks earlier, and we have had one of our in depth discussions about what we thought the meaning of life was and how we could find out purpose and help create our present situations. He told me that he had made a contract with God. I thought that was incredible, but felt as though I needed to do some research before I would even attempt to make a contract myself. So, when I flip through the first few pages I knew that this was the book that I need to read.

Well, to make a very long story short, the chapter that I am reading now is explaining that all of us are given gifts, it how we interpret them that can get us into trouble. We do have a choice how to very our gifts. We can see them as either blessings or burdens. And yes, there are many who choose to see them as burdens.

The reason why I am posting this tonight is so that you, the reader, will stop and look at your situation, whatever it may be and find the blessing in it. They are all around us. The strife that you might be feeling today, is the lesson that you will need to conquer tomorrow.

So the next time you want to wallow in a pity party, just take a deep breath and look at yourself in a different light. You have already been giving tools to not only handle what you are going through, but to excel in your life.
