reBlog from MitraD: Swara Yoga for Health, Wealth & Happiness

I found this fascinating quote today:

Have you ever had one of those days when nothing seems to work? In the office you get overloaded with work, can't meet a deadline so the boss gets mad and ask you to stay late and finish the project... you are too tired to remember that you had to pick up some grocery on your way home...so when you get home your wife gets mad at you for forgetting the stuff...and there's nothing you can do but huff n' puff. Well, I am not going to try to decipher why it happens, but here's a tip which you can try and see it if makes a difference.MitraD, Swara Yoga for Health, Wealth & Happiness, Sep 2007

You should read the whole article.

Lights! Camera! Action!

I will starting to make a video blog via youtube. You might already know this, but YouTube is now an official social networking site. It allows you to create your own channel and upload as many video as you like. This way, for those of you who don't actualy know me, you can be introduced by webcam.

This is so exciting to me, because I want to be able to serve my community better and work on more clients. I hope that you will stop by my page and leave a comment.

reBlog from certifiedrolfing: Rolfmovement’s Weblog

I found this fascinating quote today:

John Barton is a Certified Rolfer with advanced trainings in spinal and biomechanics and has a Rolfing Practice in the Museum District of Fort Worth, TX. This video communicates the necessity to have a functional dynamic spine and demonstrates how easily rolfmovement exercises can be performed at home before or after Rolfing sessions to help integrate the work fully. We are all given special gifts.

I try to always have a book to read. So, far there are 10 books in my "To Read" line up. At the moment I am reading a great book, entitled, "Sacred Contracts." Apparently I am on one of my Spiritual Quests to find a deeper meaning to life. This book begged me to take it as I was scanning the shelves of a used book store in Campbell, CA. I go into this store often, not only for the books, but also for the store cat that is given free range of the entire store.

As I was looking for massage, yoga, and books on spirituality, this one book just seemed to be watching me. I couldn't just pass it by. So, I picked it up and look through a couple pages, that's when I realized that this was the book that I had been searching for.

A friend of my had come into town a few weeks earlier, and we have had one of our in depth discussions about what we thought the meaning of life was and how we could find out purpose and help create our present situations. He told me that he had made a contract with God. I thought that was incredible, but felt as though I needed to do some research before I would even attempt to make a contract myself. So, when I flip through the first few pages I knew that this was the book that I need to read.

Well, to make a very long story short, the chapter that I am reading now is explaining that all of us are given gifts, it how we interpret them that can get us into trouble. We do have a choice how to very our gifts. We can see them as either blessings or burdens. And yes, there are many who choose to see them as burdens.

The reason why I am posting this tonight is so that you, the reader, will stop and look at your situation, whatever it may be and find the blessing in it. They are all around us. The strife that you might be feeling today, is the lesson that you will need to conquer tomorrow.

So the next time you want to wallow in a pity party, just take a deep breath and look at yourself in a different light. You have already been giving tools to not only handle what you are going through, but to excel in your life.

Gmail is Down!!! September 24th 2009

Alright, I thought that I was too enlightened to ever feel bad when technology was having hick-ups. That was before I knew that it could happen to my google account. I am not really happy right now.

Not only are ALL of my main emails through google, but so is my work and personal schedules. If feel so lost. Okay, its not that bad, but I really didn't understand how much I rely on google, my cell phone, and my laptop until this morning. I guess technology really does have a strong pull on our lives.

Well, its Thursday Morning, and I will be taking appointments at my San Jose Massage studion just of of Winchester Blvd. The office is just south of Satana Row, and there is plenty of parking. I would love to meet new clients as well as my loyal long standing clients.

Massage helps your body relax and it helps the muscular system stay a peak performance. Well, that's all for the massage plug.

Hope that gmail, is back up soon.

The Best time to Heal

When does your body find the best time to heal? Well, its will you are sleeping. This is not a new concept to the western medical field, nor the eastern. there are my reason to explain this with eastern philosophies, but within the West, it comes down to two words. Krebs Cycle.

Look it up on Google for the best research to explain this. Normally I would explain a bit more, but its 1:32am and I need to heal.

p.s. If you are need of a great massage experience, just remember, I am accepting new clients.

Walking the Stress Away!!

Did you realize that you actually do have more time than you think? With all of the new shows that are sooooooo addictive to watch on the television, you would never know how much time is spent watch it. If you could just cut out on of those shows, that would be 30 - 60 minutes more time a day that you could work on lowering you stress level. How???

Take a walk! It doesn't have to be a hike, just take trip around the block or down the street of you home or office. Yes, even if it is just to go get a Starbucks, or in my case Peet's Coffee. Walking will not only help clear your mind, but it might help you lose a few pounds as well.

Living a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean that you have to punish yourself. A little reorganization of your time can make all the difference in the world.

In the meantime, if you are wanting a massag, I am taking appointments for this week. Massage in San Jose, has never been better. My office is just south of Santana Row.

Take a deep breath

Have you ever noticed that when one thing goes wrong, everything tends to start getting harder? It can't just be one thing. You trip on the carpet right after you get out of bed, then the water just won't get as hot as you want it in the shower, and on it goes.
Well, that is what started to happen to me this morning. I just had one little thing start my day of a little harder than I thought it should, then I found myself running late for an appointment, traffic wasn't helping at all, and so on.
That's when I remember to take a deep breath and clear my mind. Yes, I know that sounds a little too simple to work, but it really does. Taking the time to literally stop what you are doing and breath deep and slowly will actually calm you down. Just like pressing Ctl, Alt, Delete on your computer can, stop a cascade of issues, slow breathing restarts you.
No, I didn't come up with this myself. A wonderful woman who is a mentor of mind use to find it most interesting watching me run around like a chicken with it head cut off. She thought that I would just run myself out and then I could listen and find a better way to get my stuff down. When I finally asked her how I could not get so flustered all the time, she told me to breathe.
So simple, yet wonderful. So the next time you are at your wits end. Breathe

Good Morning

I woke up this morning, the same as most, with the knowledge that I would only have about 15 mins to get myself up, showered and dress, before I would have to drive my daughter to school. Now, it really doesn't take that much time to get ready to just drop her off, but I want just enough time to check my emails, drop her off, and go back to sleep for about another hour.

This has been my schedule for the past month. What I didn't plan for was that I seemed to just not have the same amount of energy as I did over the summer or last year. Puzzled, I started going over my past routines. There was something that I had cut out, that I think I should have kept in.

Have any of your heard about the 15-Minute Miracle? We, I first found this workbook while I was in Atlanta. The funny this is, the author of this book and workbook lives in Los Gatos. This tickled me so much I actually got in contact with her, just to share my experiences and ask her if her program could assist me in learning how to clam my mind and have more peace in my life.

She is a wonderful person, and I am still planing to take a few workshops with her. But as I started to get more involved with my daughter's last year of high school, I cut out my morning writing exercises that I do with my workbook. Not a good idea.
Now, I am more tired than I would ever like to be, and I don't get as many of my own projects done as I had when I had my past routine.

With that said, what do you think I will be doing tomorrow morning? If you find areas in your life that you would like to change or see improve, then by all means improve them. The only one responsible for your life is you.
